Katarina Karnéus' recording of Mahler Symphony No. 8 with the San Francisco Symphony and Michael Tilson Thomas (released on 31st January 2010) has been awarded 3 Grammys in the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards. The recording has won the titles of Classical Album of the Year, Choral Album of the Year and Best Engineered Classical Album.
This Album is the latest in the San Francisco Symphony's ongoing Mahler recording cycle, which has been recorded on the orchestra's own label SFS Media.
Future plans for Ms Karnéus include Donna Elvira for Covent Garden, Fricka for the Liceu in Barcelona, Ruggiero/Alcina in Gothenburg, two concert tours in the USA and Europe with the San Francisco Symphony, Verdi’s Requiem in the Concertgebouw Amsterdam and Mahler 8 at the 2010 Edinburgh Festival.
